ANZAC DAY 90 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

For those of you not based in Australia ANZAC Day celebrates the Australian and New Zealand Soldiers who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War 1. It was a place where thousands of Men died trying to scale the sand cliffs and avoid the Turkish bullets to get on flat ground and face the Enemy The British dropped our troops at the wrong spot and made them advance the Turkish front first.11,400 ANZAC soldiers died in the battle in all some 35,00 allied troops there including British, French and Indian troops. A terrible amount of Turkish Soldiers also died there estimated at around 86,000 soldiers and thousands of Australian make the journey to Gallipoli every year to join on the dawn remembrance service, around 20,000 are expected to attend some sleeping on the beaches where there family members first landed at ANZAC cove.

In Australia we have services and marches all over the country to celebrate ANZAC day. We also only have one Football match that is staged between Collingwood ( my team) and Essendon every year for the last 11 years and it is referred to as the biggest match of the year except for the Grand Final and has an average attendance over the 10 years of 80,000 . I am sad to say today that Essendon won and keeps Collingwood in the bottom 4 with only 1 win in 5 games.

Well i gave the room another coat of paint this morning so that's all done the only thing left to do is paint the wood work around the windows and the door and we will be finished. I have decided to get new carpet put in the room as the current carpet is old a dirty and i don't want my child playing on it so will go and check out some carpet this week.
