Willow is growing

We took willow to the local health nurse at the hospital for her weekly visit on Thursday. Willow has put on more weigh and now weighs 8 pound 4 ounces and measures 53 cm long.

The health nurse told us that we have to start putting Willow down before she goes to sleep as we are all spoiling her otherwise and she is the one in control not us, and we may have to take her to sleep school. So for the last few days we have been trying to put her down before she falls to sleep and you would think that the earth is about to end with the way she cries, which totally upsets Rebecca. I think we will be off to sleep school with Willow as both Rebecca and I will go crazy through lack of sleep otherwise.

But the only way to keep her quiet is to bring her into our bed which is something we don't wont to do but at 2 am after her crying most of the night we all need sleep so that's what happens.

Sorry to hear you are still struggling with the sleep issue. :( You might want to do some research on your own. The current consensus is that its not possible to "spoil" a newborn.

Co-sleeping is bit more controversial of course. Here is one doctor's opinion: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0838/is_1999_Sept/ai_60947818/pg_3
It's just one example. There are many more both for and against. Hopefully you can come to terms with what's right for your family. Good luck!!!!
